The Stalking Resource Center of the National Center for Victims of Crime and the Safety Net Project of the National Network to End Domestic Violence present an exciting training event:
The Use of Technology in Intimate Partner Stalking - ADVANCED TRAINING FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROFESSIONALS
June 26 - 27, 2014
The Use of Technology in Intimate Partner Stalking Advanced Training for Criminal Justice Professionals is a one and a half day hands-on session, focusing on computer and cell phone forensics and basic evidence technology collection.
Geared toward law enforcement and other professionals investigating or prosecuting stalking cases, this training will provide essential information on the documentation, collection, and preservation of cell phone and computer evidence. This training will greatly enhance attendees’ ability to investigate cases where technology is misused as a tool in stalking.
The computer forensics segment will instruct law enforcement officers on how to look up IP addresses and obtain crucial case information from Internet websites. Training participants will use this information to create subpoenas, warrants, and preservation letters during the training.
Advanced forensics training on mobile phone seizure and analysis will also be provided. This session will cover where evidence may be found on the phone, how to preserve evidence, and how to properly transport and package cell phones for examinations. All participants will have the opportunity to take an examination at the end of the session to receive certification in mobile phone seizure.
Attendance to this training is by application only. To register for this event, click here or visit "Register" at the top of this page.
Participants will have to cover their own transportation and accommodations. Participants will be asked to bring a wireless capable laptop.
